The last day of CinemaCon started off with Paramount presenting their upcoming slate. The presentation had an interesting vibe with the looming merger with Warner Brothers and politics that are unavoidable with the leadership at the legacy studio.

Paramount kicked off their presentation with a montage video narrated by their Mission: Impossible star, Tom Cruise, about not only the importance of the theatrical experience but just how many iconic, game changing films they’ve delivered over the years. With appearances from Timothée Chalamet, Will Smith, Damson Idris, Travis Scott, Johnny Knoxville, and so many more, the video ends with Cruise on top of the iconic Paramount water tower (naturally) saying the future is Paramount.

‘Long live the movies’ was the theme as Paramount CEO David Ellison took the stage to promise a huge bet on the theatrical experience. He spoke about partnering with directors with a huge vision and then finally touched on the incoming merger with Warner Brothers. He pledged to release 30 films annually between both companies once the deal is finalized. Following up, Ellison said effective immediately all films will have a minimum of a 45 day theatrical window and 90 days before on SVOD. Paramount is working hard to give audiences a film for every season and genre with 15 films this year releasing, double from the year prior. The studio promised so many types of films from Call of Duty‘s first film to a new Jackass film to the Possession remake to the original film from James Mangold and Timothée Chalamet and even more Paw Patrol.

Scary Movie was next with the Wayans brothers and Anna Farms on stage to discuss why they felt honored to have the franchise back in their hands and bringing the rated-R comedy back to theaters. From Longlegs, The Substance, Get Out, Sinners, Smile and many more, the film is making up for lost time with all the films to poke fun at. Scary Movie 6 hits theaters on June 5th.

The legendary icon Johnny Knoxville took the stage to show the trailer for the ‘best and final Jackass film’ and he said he was quite emotional about introducing it as he loves the show/movies so much. They knew it was the last film in production so he said they put everything into the film they could and promises it’ll be the best they’ve ever made. With throwbacks to iconic stunts we all remember and new things you have to see to believe, it’s definitely one last wild ride. Jackass: Best and Last jumps into theaters on June 26th.
