The final presentation of CinemaCon 2026 belonged to Disney and their many umbrellas. After a long wait to get inside and the presentation to start, the studio kicked off their presentation with a sizzle reel of their successful 2025 with Avatar, Lilo and Stitch, Zootopia 2, and much more before highlighting what is to come this year as they highlighted they have been the number one studio at the box office nine of the last ten years.
The sequel to the iconic 2000s classic was a main focus of the presentation with many dressed up with red shoes, handbags and sunglasses. The Devil Wears Prada 2 will arrive in theaters on May 1st.
Jon Favreau was on hand to introduce The Mandalorian & Grogu. CinemaCon audiences were treated to a new trailer at the Star Wars film followed by the opening sequence. Tickets go on sale for the Pedro Pascal film tomorrow, 4/17. The latest Star Wars entry hits theaters on May 22nd.
We were treated to two exclusive clips of Toy Story Five. The first clip starts with Bonnie, the young kid, being gifted an iPad-like tablet, Lilypad. While the parents are concerned of screen time, the toys led by Jessie are concerned with the girl not making friends with kids in the neighborhood. Then legend Tom Hanks and Tim Allen were next on stage to discuss the latest sequel to Toy Story. The second clip showcased Woody wearing a poncho and the toys giving him a hard time before his bald spot took center stage. The fifth entry of the iconic story will bring back the two stars alongside franchise favorites and some new characters. Toy Story Five will release in theaters on June 19th.
Dwayne Johnson and Catherine Laga’aia introduced a new look at the Moana live action film directed by Thomas Kail. The live action brings Johnson back to the world from the animated feature into theaters this summer on July 10th.
The Dog Stars from legendary director Ridley Scott was up next, which stars Academy Award Nominees Jacob Elordi and Josh Brolin. The film based on the 2012 novel by Peter Heller is set in the aftermath of a flu virus that was catastrophic and nearly wiped out humanity. Margaret Qualley, Guy Pearce and Benedict Wong round out the cast. The film is set for an August 28th release date.
Another Brolin project, Whalefall, from director Brian Duffield follows a scuba diver (Austin Abrams) who, while searching for the remains of his father (Brolin) gets swallowed alive by a whale and attempts to escape. The clip we saw was incredibly tense and terrifying with Abrams fighting for release from the whale. Despite being deep underwater and quite murky, the filmmaking was incredible as you could truly see everything and felt completely immersed with the scale, intense sound and sweeping score. The film will release in theaters on October 16th.
We got a new look at the latest Martin McDonagh film, Wild Horse Nine. The Sam Rockwell and John Malkovich clip on display was full of that McDonagh humor of the two on a plane before giving us a new trailer with glimpses of the rest of the cast Steve Buscemi, Tom Waits, and Parker Posey. The film will be in theaters on November 6th.
Hexed, only in theaters November 25th, is the big animated release for Disney. It follows a teenager, Billie, who accidentally finds out she’s a witch, voiced by Hailee Steinfeld and her mother, voiced by Rashida Jones. The film is described as a coming-of-age comedy and we were treated to an exclusive clip of Billie falling into an alternate universe as she learns of her powers.
In March 2027, Pixar will release Gatto, about a black cat. But before that, a massive sequel will hit theaters in February 2027. Ice Age: Boiling Point, the sixth installment, was announced for a 2027 release. Stars Ray Romano, John Leguizamo, Denis Leary, Simon Pegg and Queen Latifah are all returning to reprise their roles from the previous installments. We were treated an exclusive clip that felt entirely reminiscent of the original films with that iconic acorn.
President of Marvel Studios Kevin Feige was one of many guests to introduce the centerpiece of the Disney slate, Avengers: Doomsday. The film will be released into theaters later this year on December 18th, a move up from the competing release date with Dune: Part Three. Joining Feige on stage were Chris Evans, Anthony Russo, Alan Bergman and Joe Russo.
