The official selection of the first five Special Presentation titles for the 50th annual Toronto International Film Festival, presented by Rogers, has been announced! TIFF will take place from September 4 to September 14, 2025 This year’s screenings will be in the TIFF Lightbox, Roy Thomson Hall, the Visa Screening Room at the Princess of Wales Theatre, Cineplex’s Scotiabank Theatre Toronto, Glenn Gould Studio at the Canadian Broadcast Centre, Cinema Park, and the Royal Alexandra Theatre. 

This highly esteemed festival  celebrates the best of Canadian and global cinema as well as hosting special events, conferences, and the famous In Conversation With… series with some of the film’s creatives. Additionally, TIFF has a history of premiering noteworthy films for the upcoming award season. Previous highlights include La vita è bella (1997), Slumdog Millionaire (2008), and The King’s Speech (2010). On the last day of the festival, TIFF announces the winners of multiple Jury Prizes and, most notably, the People’s Choice Awards. This will be the first year the festival introduces the International People’s Choice Award.
