CinemaCon 2025 closes out with a presentation from Disney. Disney was the final presentation at 2025 CinemaCon and kicked things off reassuring theaters that Disney is one of the best studios performing at the box office year after year, of the last nine years they’ve been number one at the box office eight of those. A statement the attendees were happy to hear before the studio dived into their upcoming slate for 2025 and an update on some 2026 projects.

The studio started off with a montage of recent releases and upcoming films that included a slight intruder, Stitch, from the upcoming remake of Lilo & Stitch, burst into films, similar to the marketing campaign of the original film. This led into a new look at the live action film that hits theaters this May.

Up next was the first of the on-hand talent, Lindsay Lohan and Jamie Lee Curtis on hand to share a new clip of their highly anticipated sequel, Freakier Friday. The clip showed Lohan’s Tess clearly body swapped with the mind of someone else trying to flirt with her previous love interest, Jake (Chad Michael Murray). The film will hit theaters August 8th

Another sequel took the stage with Jared Leto and Jeff Bridges on hand after a laser show took over to introduce the world premiere footage of Tron: Ares. The third film in the franchise follows as a rogue program, Ares, crosses over into the real world with the Tron bikes wreaking havoc on a real city and a ship floating in the sky while Greta Lee’s character appears to lead a charge to defeat these invaders. The incredible, highly anticipated score by Nine Inch Nails dominated the Colosseum. Tron: Ares will be exclusively in theaters on October 10th

While Prey was dumped on Hulu, it was still a large hit amongst critics and fans of the Predator universe and Disney has a new entry into the franchise. Elle Fanning was on hand to introduce a teaser for Predator: Badlands. Fanning provided the perfect logline for the footage, what if Predator was the hero? The teaser finds the Predator crash-landing on a violent alien planet and fighting to survive. He teams up with Fanning’s character along the way to make it out alive. Predator: Badlands will be in theaters on November 7th

Moving on from sequels and reboots, we slid into the Searchlight slate, which kicked off with a new musical biopic. After touting the success of both A Real Pain and A Complete Unknown, we had Jeremy Allen White and Jeremy Strong on hand to showcase the world premiere of the trailer for the upcoming Bruce Springsteen film, Deliver Me from Nowhere. The film seems gentle and focused on a specific era of Springsteen, Nebraska, with flashbacks to his upbringing and rise to fame.  Ending with some footage of White performing ‘Born to Run,’ this looks like a huge dad classic in the making.

James L. Brooks was on hand to receive the Cinema Verite Award with stars of his upcoming film, Ella McCay, Emma Mackey and Jamie Lee Curtis on hand to present to him. Brooks was sincere, funny and called for studios to agree to a 45-day minimum theatrical window. Premiere footage of Ella McCay was presented with Mackey as the titular role balancing her personal and professional life as an interim governor. Up next, footage from Jay Roach’s The Roses was introduced starring Olivia Colman and Benedict Cumberbatch who play a marriage couple eventually falling into a divorce. The footage was met with such laughter and well received in the room; seems it could be quite the commercial play for Searchlight.

Moving on from Searchlight, Disney went into their Marvel slate kicking things off with a video sent in from Kevin Feige on the set of Avengers: Doomsday, which is days away from principal photography. Florence Pugh, Wyatt Russell, Julia Louis Dreyfus, David Harbour, and Hannah John-Kamen were on hand to introduce a new look at the upcoming Thunderbolts*  film ahead of its summer release. Following that, CinemaCon audiences were treated to a new look at footage for The Fantastic Four: First Steps, including a first look at Julia Garner as the Silver Surfer and confirmation on a pregnancy in the film. There were no additional announcements for anything in the MCU.

Following the MCU presentation, we slid on over to the Disney animated slate. Academy Award Winner Ke Huy Quan was on hand to introduce footage of Zootopia 2. The film follows the original as Nick and Judy are on the hunt to find Gary (Quan) with additional new characters including one voiced by Quinta Brunson. Another Academy Award Winner was on hand to introduce footage of a new original Pixar film, Elio. Zoe Saldaña plays Elio’s aunt as Elio is abducted by aliens. The film looks gorgeous, and the plot seems like something actually geared towards children with unique worldbuilding.

Ending the Disney presentation was the highly anticipated first look at the newest Avatar film with a video intro from the masterful James Cameron, who is currently working on the film. After his message explaining that the Sully family is fighting both human invaders and the new Ash people, Saldaña came back out to further explain the Ash people as well as the peaceful wind traders. CinemaCon attendees wore their 3D glasses again for the new footage that transported everyone right back to Pandora. From fire to a Payakan sighting, the footage of Avatar: Fire and Ash was absolutely stunning and you can tell full of emotional high stakes.
