Missed Oscartunities – Adapted Screenplay Podcast

On our last podcast episode, we were joined by some amazing guests and dove into some Missed Oscartunities in the Adapted Screenplay category. Jacob, Nicole and Ricky were joined by Dan, Matthew and Ryan as they briefly discussed the news of the week and then began a fun discussion of some overlooked screenplays (AND SNUBS!) in the Adapted Screenplay category at the Oscars.

The team went through two rounds of choosing the screenplays they wanted to recognize. The first round each person selected two screenplays who were nominated at the Oscars, but did not win. The second round each person selected two screenplays that did not receive an Oscar nomination.

First Round – Nominated in Adapted Screenplay, but did not win
Jacob – Moneyball (Written by Steven Zaillian and Aaron Sorkin), The Lord of the Rings: The Fellowship of the Ring (Written by Fran Walsh, Philippa Boyens and Peter Jackson)

While the team did this just to shine some extra light on some performances that don’t live as Best Adapted Screenplay Winners, we are running polls on our Twitter page to see which screenplay comes out on top! Definitely make sure to follow us on Twitter, vote and stay tuned to see who wins!
