In June 2025, Cosm, Warner Bros. Pictures, Little Cinema, and MakeMake introduced the world’s first cinematic Shared Reality experience – a revolutionary production of The Matrix, in celebration of its 25th anniversary – to remarkable demand, with nearly all of its initial showings selling out in the first two weeks. To accommodate the response, Cosm recently added new showings and extended the run of The Matrix in Shared Reality through the end of August 2025, with additional dates under consideration.
“We were excited to work with Cosm on the first-ever presentation of this kind in celebration of The Matrix, and thrilled with the results,” stated Jeff Goldstein, President, Warner Bros. Pictures Global Distribution. “Audiences truly embraced this unique sight and sound experience, so it was an easy ‘yes’ when the opportunity to dig into the extensive Warner catalog and give Willy Wonka & the Chocolate Factory – one of the most enduring and beloved films of several generations of moviegoers – the Cosm treatment.”
“Willy Wonka has been a creative tentpole for us – a film that shaped our upbringing and expanded our sense of what’s possible when imagination leads,” said Jay Rinsky, Founder and Chief Creative Officer of Little Cinema. “To now have the chance to expand the storytelling around the frame, enhancing its most pivotal moments in partnership with Cosm’s groundbreaking format, MakeMake’s visual effects wizardry, and Warner Bros.’ iconic legacy… It’s an honor, and a full-circle dream realized.”
“What makes a project like this so exciting is the chance to blend creative exploration with technological innovation,” added Kirk Shintani, Creative Director at MakeMake. “With Cosm’s cutting-edge tools and our deep love for the source material, Wonka becomes a one-of-a-kind immersive experience. Our ongoing collaboration with Cosm and Little Cinema lets us build on a shared creative language—and create something that honors and expands the world that first captivated audiences in 1971.”
