Jesse Eisenberg takes a trip for his sophomore feature in A Real Pain.

Written and directed by Eisenberg,  the film won the Waldo Scott Screenwriting Award at this year’s Sundance Film Festival. Stripping down to a story close to home, the film follows cousins David (Eisenberg) and Benji (Kieran Culkin) as they embark to Poland to honor their late grandmother. Possessing the same level of anxiety, these two cousins could not be more different. Benji’s casual dress of a bleached hoodie and red shorts compared to David’s more put-together ensemble of a button-up shirt and cap tells us everything we need to know about this duo before the story unravels.

While the trailer possesses a comedic overlay of the odd couple trope, there is an emotional shift as thoughts of pain, future, and past come to the surface for these cousins.

A Real Pain drops in select theaters on November 1 from Searchlight.
