The 2022 Gotham Award Nominations were announced today, officially kicking off award season! Aftersun, TĂR and Everything Everywhere All at Once will compete for Best Feature Film at the 32nd annual Gotham Awards. The Gotham Awards are a first stop in the awards season marathon, especially for lower budget films that are looking to break into the Oscars race.
The Gotham Awards must meet some criteria to be eligible. Films cannot exceed a gross budget ceiling of $35 million. The contending films must be American, except for the Best International Feature and the Best Documentary category. It is also worthy to note that the Outstanding Lead Performance, Breakthrough Performance and Outstanding Supporting Performance are all gender neutral categories. Michelle Williams (The Fabelmans), Adam Sandler (Hustle), and the cast of Fire Island will receive tribute awards.
The 32nd annual Gotham Awards Ceremony will take place on Monday, November 28th.
